NATURAL BEAUTIES

The juxtaposition between natural elements and glamourous pieces is forever intriguing.
This design style rides a fine line- and when execute correctly, turns out beautifully.
Theres all at once a sense of comfort, earthiness, and sophistication. To me it seems like a concoction for never tiring of a space...

yummy velvet sofas against unfinished woods...

luxurious furs and wools...

and classically glamorous elements like tufting against raw materials

JUICY JEWEL TONES

I would like to think that I could successfully move away from a wildly bold color palette - decorating my home in white, with touches of gray and jute. But- I think I need to accept that thats just not going to happen. Especially when I see spaces like this...

I just don't think this could be more perfect. Ruffles on the minty curtains and all.

50 NIFTY WITH PAPER ANTLER

Last week M and I met with Jonny + Michelle from Paper Antler.
To say it was a pleasure meeting these two would be an understatement.

They are kind and sweet, and have a great sense of humor! And- they have hearts big hearts for charity.

Next year they will embark on "50 Nifty".
They will travel to 50 states in 50 weeks and donate $1,000 from each wedding they photograph to support She Dances, and Anti-Human Trafficking Charity...

If you are looking to book a photographer - check them out! Their work is stunning, and I truly believe their aim is to tailor their work to fit you + yours' personalities!

WEDDING ON THE WEEKEND

When I got engaged, I knew I didn't want to inundate you all with wedding inspiration. However, a few of you have expressed interest- so maybe on the weekends I will share a few of my thoughts and musings as to just how this wedding might turn out...

it seems that with every passing moment, days are turning into weeks - and I have bigger decisions to make everyday. this week I have turned my attention to narrowing down a final color palette...
after seeing a super pale pink dress on one of my bridesmaids, I fell in love.

flowers are a really important part of the wedding to me, and I adore this cake.
the fashioning of the flowers and the colors would perfectly coincide with some other choices I have made...

spending the hours I have losing myself to Style Me Pretty, I've seen many brides choosing to veer from the traditional and going with printed/patterned, mixed and matched dishware, and idea I think I'm keen on. I like the way it brings the table down to earth and doesn't feel too stiff...

When it comes to events and paper - I am Ms. Matchy-Matchy. However,  I have yet to be inspired by a great idea for seating cards. Have any of you seen a great idea? Or, did you have something at your wedding that was personal and you loved?

I hope all of your weekends are off to a wonderful start!

GLAMORIZING YOUR BATHROOM

Its the little luxuries around our homes that make them spaces we love to spend time in.
Preparing for our day- and likewise unwinding- in a space that is so lovely it inspires us to feel the same way is easy and attainable for any bathroom, on any budget...

add a large mirror that you love. thrift one, paint one you have stored in your garage- or if you want it to be that one statement piece, find one you will have forever!

a chandelier. an ultimate statement of glamour, you can find chandeliers for as little as $35 at Ikea.

pretty curtains. if you have windows, or instead of generic bath curtains, find a drapery the looks and feels sumptuous!

if your thinking of taking on a larger project - add a little sparkle...

...or choose a tub with character.

make a special little spot for yourself. reupholster an existing bench you have around the house, add a little vanity-top, and use a few pretty containers for makeup brushes, a tray for perfumes, etc.

flowers. isn't every space a little prettier with some blooms?

finally- a well stocked bathroom. its nice for you and your guests to have everything you/they need provided right there in the bathroom. trays are great for a little styling, and a freshly folded pile of white towels is inviting.

DECORATING WITH GINGER JARS

Although the blue and white ginger jar may have a firmly planted place in traditional and historical design, their beauty and style far outreaches the boundaries of these styles. Leave it to Miss Anna Spiro to have us completely enamored with the way that a few of these jars can ground such bright, bold, and contemporary styled interiors...

Whether they are used to ground a tablescape, or add a pop of color or design- I really think there is no going wrong with this classic...

THE SKIRTED TABLE

As some of you may know, I recently started a little re-decorating of my living room. Out with the old, in with the new- a little project that feeds my need to spring clean. A great idea in theory, sometimes its hard to break out of the mold of the definitive design you originally chose, like red, purple, and stripes for example.

In an effort to usher in a design that's slightly less bold and a little bit more soft paletted- I'm thinking a flowy, no fuss skirt on a sidetable might be a great way to do away with some of those hard lines and bolder color choices...

A skirted table seems to give a room an instant feel of comfort...

and while I have something basic in mind, more structure skirts look great and can easily be a DIY project, like this one from little green notebook!

PRETTY PERFUME

Everytime I walk into my favorite department store, the first thing that catches my eye is the gleaming, sparking perfume counters. All the lovely glass bottles with bows, flowers, and in pretty shapes is certainly something that should be displayed. Whether you have 1 bottle or 15, a bottle of perfume is a lovely way to feminize a space...

10 MUST HAVES FOR SPRING

This weekend I have escaped to Chicago with my mom and sister for a much anticipated appointment at the J. Crew Bridal shop! But, I'm so happy to have my stylish and beautiful friend Kara here from Cheeky Chic to show you 10 great spring fashion trends! If you haven't been by her blog, its the perfect dose of daily inspiration!

I am so excited and blessed to be here today! I have been so inspired by luxe + lillies from Day 1 and I cannot wait to share some of my creative visions with you all.  One of my greatest passions in life has been capturing alluring fashion trends and designs, and turning them into polished, yet personalized styles.  Today, I am delighted to share with you, The Top 10 Things Every Cheeky Chic Lady Should Have in Her Closet This Spring...

1. Ankle Bow'd Heels: I am lusting over these dramatic, over-embellished, obnoxious bow heels!  Tiny bows on the toes no longer do it for me, I am loving everything about these chic & flirty heels adorned with a massive ankle bow...

2. Silk Shorts: Another trend I am loving for Spring are silk, high-waisted shorts.  They look amazing dressed up or dressed down, wedges or flats,    paired with a cotton tee or chiffon blouse.. everything about these shorts are amazing.  I especially am drawn towards the cinched drawstring waist but equally adore the pleats...

3. Ultimate Cheeky Chic Dress: This is what I like to call my, 'Meet the Parents' dress.  It is a staple item in every chic girl's wardrobe!  The dress is classy & sophisticated while keeping a little to the imagination as well.  Keep the neckline high, hemline low, & attention on your waist & you will not go wrong with this dress...

4. Attention to Detail Top: Lace has been a fun & flirty trend for spring & the best part about lace is that you can play around with it without it looking tacky.  There is so much detail going on in these tanks & I am loving the woven elegance with a touch of lace throughout the top as well...

Scalloped Shorts: I have been patiently awaiting for a great new style from the cotton short department & it looks like I have to wait no longer! These scalloped shorts are a perfect way to toy with a casual look & make it bold...

Tortoise Watch: I am a watch fanatic! I have watches in every shape, color, size, price.. you name it! But I am constantly drawn to the refined & polished look of tortoise.  Whether dark or light colored tortoise, you cannot go wrong for spring...
7. Relaxed-Boyfriend Tee:  The comfort of an informal, loose t-shirt will never lose it's love in my book.  Since it is one of my favorite tops because it is so versatile, I like to play around with the style a bit.  Try stripes, a deeper neckline, shorter sleeves, or even an a-line cut.  Either way, this tee is perfect for running errands or lounging on the weekends...

8. Trilby Hat:  My go-to spring & summer hat has always been the fedora & I am loving the modern twist on the trilby hat!  Typically known to be more of a male's style hat, the contemporary style has shifted a bit with a touch of femininity & mod flair...

9. Statement Jacket: These jackets are to die for! A light-weight statement jacket will be imperative for your closet this spring!  Dress any outfit up or change your day look to night by simply adding a statement jacket...

10. Ash Hobo:  Personally, I am a more structured handbag lover, but I am drooling over these ash colored hobo bags.  The color is simple & easy to pair with unlimited looks!  The hobo style is casual yet modern & I am loving the simplicity of carefree neutral toned bag...
